約翰．保曼在三十年前已拍出具現代感覺的動作片，堪稱時代先軀。六十年代動作巨星李．馬文飾演一名黑道悍將，他被不忠的妻子和她的歹徒男友合謀槍殺，但大難不死，兩年後出獄，傾全力向陷害他的人報仇。全片節奏雖不象九十年代動作片那麼緊湊有力，但鏡頭絕不拖泥帶水，某些片段還拍出真正的暴力感覺。美國西岸的景色，包括著名的阿卡翠監獄，都增加了本片在視覺上的吸引力。安吉．迪金森和卡羅爾．奧康納等演員亦表現不錯。...
